All-Natural Insect Repellent for Dogs

Do NOT use essential oils on toy breeds or cats without first consulting a holistic veterinarian for safety protocols - many essential oils are toxic to toy breeds and cats!!

Mix 3 drops of each of the following essential oils into 16 oz. of distilled water and spritz onto your dog's coat (avoiding the eyes!) as needed...

bulletOrange
bulletPeppermint

This mixture smells great and is safe to use repeatedly!  You can use it on your human family also!

As an alternative, you can use a few drops of Eucalyptus & Citronella Oils, mixed with 1 tsp. of olive oil, rubbed into your dog's coat (put the olive oil onto your palm, add the essential oils, mix together by rubbing your hands together, and then rub into your dog's entire coat) to repel mosquitoes, or a few drops of Tea Tree oil rubbed into the coat (especially the legs and belly) to repel ticks.

All-Natural Insect Repellent for Dogs Formula 2

Mix the indicated number of drops of each of the following essential oils into 16 ounces of distilled water and spritz onto your dog's coat (avoiding the eyes!) as needed:

bullet8-10 drops of Young Living’s Purification Blend – includes:

o       Citronella

o       Lemongrass

o       Lavandin

o       Rosemary

o       Melaleuca (Tea Tree)

o       Myrtle

2 drops Eucalyptus (radiata preferred)

2 drops Pine

bullet

2 drops Peppermint

 

All-Natural Ear Wash for Dogs

Mix the following ingredients and use generously to flush your dog’s ears.  Fill the ear canal and massage gently for 30 seconds and then let the dog shake his head to release the loosened dirt and debris.  Wipe ear flap gently with a clean towel.

1 Cup Organic Aloe Juice

1 Cup Witch Hazel

 3 Tablespoons Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

 2 drops Lavender Essential Oil

10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil

 

 

Hot Spot Spray for Dogs

8 ounces of purified water (distilled, spring, whatever - just not city tap water)

bullet

Handful of dried Calendula Flower petals

bullet

1 Tablespoon Aloe Juice or gel from a plant

bullet

5-6 drops Young Living Lavender Essential Oil

 

Bring water to a boil on stovetop - do not microwave.  When water boils, remove from heat, add Calendula Flower petals.  Cover and steep until cool.  Strain liquid into a spray bottle.  Add Aloe and Lavender Oil.  Shake well.  Spray on cleaned hot spots as many times a day as needed.  Helps take the itch away and will help speed healing.  Store in the refrigerator.
